Sheriff’s and Coroner’s Office

The Sheriff and Coroner is a combined office in Mineral County, as it is in most of Montana. The combined office serves the county residents by providing the services of law enforcement, criminal investigation, county detention center administration, district court bailiff, civil processes, and human death inquiries/investigations. The Sheriff’s Office is also responsible for the county emergency services communications center (911 for Law Enforcement, Fire, and EMS), and in assisting the Mineral County Search & Rescue.

The office includes sworn and non-sworn Public Safety Officers: Deputy Sheriffs (regular and reserve), Deputy Coroners, Detention Officers, Communications Officers, and Auxiliary Officers.
