To: Mineral County and residents using Natural Pier Bridge.
From: Mineral County Commissioner Roman Zylawy
Date: September 10, 2026
Subject: September update on Natural Pier Bridge
The contractor will begin moving in equipment and materials soon around the work area of the bridge, and intends to start the work on Monday September 21. This will be the day that ALL traffic will need to use Panther Pass in and out of homes on Plateau Road. Mineral County Road department crews will be at Panther pass to help coordinate safe and efficient traffic flow for at least the first few days. Then as people gain a better understanding of the new route, will taper off their presence.
Republic services will move the garbage containers to the end of the Panther Pass Road near the intersection with Petty creek off Bible Lane.
The Contractor has said that the bridge will be Closed from September 21 until work is completed. With the hopeful expectation that it might be done within 2 weeks.
Again, thank you to everyone for their patience on this. And especially to those folks that granted Mineral County temporary easements through their property to use the old historic Panther Pass.
Respectfully, Roman Zylawy
